Their family first entered the industry with Billy’s father, Romeo, who helped found Monterey Farms Corporation and led large-scale cattle imports in the 1990s. Today, Rafael and Billy jointly import cattle and frozen genetics from the USA, Australia, and occasionally Europe, working with both the private sector and key government programs.

The Badillas also raise their own cattle in partnership with local farms and provide consultation services to producers using the genetics they import. They’ve never lost a government tender for frozen semen supply—a testament to their reputation and reliability in the industry.
