Chengetai Mukosera serves as the Bos Sires Representative and Distributor for Zimbabwe, helping cattlemen across southern Africa rebuild herds that work with their environment instead of against it. Fluent in both English and Shona, Chengetai bridges the gap between traditional knowledge and modern tools, making it easier for producers to access functional, fertility-driven genetics and proven management practices.

His philosophy was forged through firsthand experience. When he began working with cattle in 2017, he quickly saw how large-framed, high-maintenance animals struggled to maintain condition or breed back in Zimbabwe’s natural conditions. That experience led him to the Boran and to the teachings of Jan Bonsma and Johan Zietsman, both of whom emphasized the link between form, fertility, and environment. The results convinced him that real profitability comes not from inputs or indexes, but from cattle that can reproduce, perform, and thrive on what the land provides.

Now joining Bos Sires, Chengetai is committed to bringing that understanding to others. He is eager to help cattlemen identify genetics and management strategies that fit their region, their forage base, and their long-term goals. He looks forward to supporting future efforts such as field days, educational events, and translated materials to ensure Zimbabwean cattlemen have access to the same knowledge and resources as their counterparts abroad.

With over eight years of experience in cattle production, Chengetai brings a practical, grounded perspective and a clear sense of mission. His belief is straightforward: profitable cattle are adapted cattle. His goal is to see more cattlemen across Zimbabwe and neighboring regions move toward fertility-first, forage-capable herds that strengthen both their livelihoods and their land.
