Enrique Guerrero was born and raised in the Chihuahuan Desert, where the harsh environment shaped his outlook on cattle ranching from an early age. Coming from a third-generation livestock family, Enrique learned how to adapt to extreme drought conditions, raise cattle suited to their ecosystem, and build a business model centered on resilience and profitability. His experiences navigating adversity became the foundation for a consulting career built on real-world insight, not just theory.
Over the past 15 years, Enrique has become a sought-after voice in regenerative ranch management, consulting with ranchers across Mexico, the United States, South Africa, Peru, and Chile. He is known for helping producers think beyond conventional methods and encouraging an integrated approach that starts with soil health, focuses on perennial grasses, and ends with cattle that can finish on forage without costly inputs. Enrique's philosophy is simple: the ranch should work as a whole. Genetics, grazing, human resources, and market access all matter, and none can be ignored.
As the founder of Carbonlands, Enrique brings a systems-based mindset to every consultation. He’s not afraid to tell ranchers what not to do, especially if it’s something that’s been costing them money for years. His advice is grounded in logic, personal experience, and a deep understanding of what works in extreme environments. From building custom composite herds to overhauling labor structures and teaching managers to see their soil as their primary asset, Enrique offers guidance that drives measurable change.
His consulting services span genetic strategy, breeding program evaluation, pasture planning, soil health improvement, and regenerative agriculture design. In addition to his ranching background, Enrique holds several certifications, including Holistic Management Certification, Socially Responsible Certification, and a Regenerative Ranch Manager Certificate. He has also served as a speaker at the 2023 Regenerate Conference and was honored with the TMS Award in Canada in 2020.
Enrique was drawn to Bos Sires because of their shared commitment to thinking outside the box. He believes the future of cattle ranching lies in innovation, collaboration, and integration. He sees Bos Sires as the kind of team where nothing is left out of the puzzle. Together, they are helping ranchers around the world reimagine what's possible.
In addition to his role as a consultant, Enrique also serves as a Bos Sires Representative and Distributor. He is uniquely positioned to assist ranchers with both strategic planning and hands-on solutions. Whether you need guidance with your grazing program, a second opinion on your genetics, or help sourcing the right Bos Sires genetics for your environment, Enrique is ready to support every part of the process.
One of Enrique’s most notable success stories came from addressing a genetic mismatch in his own operation. Faced with poor performance in a cold climate, he sourced Aubrac-cross genetics from a similar ecosystem in the U.S. and rebuilt his cow herd. The result was a calf crop increase from 65 percent to 90 percent, all while staying true to his regenerative values.
Today, Enrique continues to advise producers of all sizes while championing regenerative practices not only on ranches but even in unexpected places like mining operations. As Luis Felipe Medina, CEO of Agnico Eagle Mexico, put it: “Enrique introduced me to regenerative livestock ranching. One day it occurred to me to apply it at the mines. I invited Enrique into the project, and we had great success.”
Whether you're a rancher seeking more profitability or an organization looking for better land use strategies, Enrique brings clarity, experience, and the strategies to move your operation forward.
