Murray Grey
The Murray Grey is a beef breed that originated in southeastern Australia in the early 1900s. The breed developed from a cross between a Shorthorn cow and an Angus bull, producing distinctive silver-grey calves that combined maternal strength with carcass quality and adaptability.
Murray Grey cattle are known for their moderate frame, docile temperament, fertility, calving ease, and ability to perform efficiently on grass. The breed was developed with practicality in mind, focusing on productive, easy-doing cattle suited to a wide range of environments.
Every cattle breed contains variation. Within any registry, you will find cattle selected for function and others selected for trends or extremes. A breed name alone does not guarantee fertility, structural integrity, or grass efficiency.
A breed is only as functional as the selection behind it.
Bos Sires does not represent a breed simply because of its label. We represent the cattle within that breed that prove themselves under practical, forage-based conditions.
